Solutions to Our Conflict

The Nation of Israel has returned to its Land, yet we have been afraid to extend full control over our rightful inheritance.  Why is that? Essentially we lack belief/emunah.  We have long ceased to nurture the inner fire of our redemptive spirit that so pushed the founders of our nascent State.  Whether they believed in a "religious" sense isn't the point, they understood they were part of a profound change in the situation of the Jewish people.  Our generation fails to grasp that we are also part of an amazing historical current, which is flowing to a more perfect world.  We have lost sense of this so much that we are willing to part with areas of our inheritance and give it away to those who lack an historical, just, and most importantly G-dly claim.  There can never really be a two state solution, because a two state solution posits that our Land can be divided, which it cannot.

Thankfully there are those pushing for more than just the same peace slogans, and are getting the idea of one indivisible united Israel out on the table.  We must prepare in our minds and souls for a new approach. For believers in our cause there is only one solution: The One State Solution.

  1. Do you live in Eretz Yisrael? I do.
While I agree with you that the Israeli Govt needs to proceed as lawful keepers of our inheritance and continue building homes for Jews, have you ever had a tour of the land and seen with your own eyes where all these Arabs are living, I.e., so close, practically if not actually on top of Jewish land. They build illegally right next to Jewish homes. From their perspective, they're right in their fight with Yaakov's children. The document that gave the Jews a country to live on, stressed that while doing so the Jews were not to do anything to antagonize the indigenous people already in the land. So much for 'legality". Our govt does nothing to stop them. If the govt keeps the "legal" posture viz-a-viz America et al, nobody will allow us our land. It must be done differently, not according to Britain or France, or Germany or ....

  2. Yes I do live here. I agree with you that this is our Land and that is why I support that only Israel be the sovereign. I am not suggesting any other idea than that. I have own version of the specifics, but lets see if we can get this consciousness change out there. I don't know if you have been to Jerusalem recently, but there is a huge banner by the Begin saying One State Solution for Israel. I think it must be having an effect. I found their website and although I have some reservations, they are at least trying to change the debate to the right direction. The specifics we can all discuss.

The mere fact that Jews live, breathe and give birth to Jewish babies is all that is needed for our "neighbors" to be antagonized. They will not stop wanting to slit the throats of our infants by our being nice. We've tried that and it didn't work. Hashem did not say, " Do not bother the murderers of your people." We are in trouble for appeasing and conceding our land to the enemy. We behave like the land is not rightfully ours and that we must look to the nations not only for the right to defend ourselves but to live and build on our own, G-d given land. G-d created the land and declared His ownership of it. He states as much in Bereshit because He knew one day we would be accused of stealing the land. He gave it to us, the Jewish people.

This is beautiful. If only more of us could realize how directly connected we are and how we are part of this history. Great post.. Thank you.

  5. Yes, I live in Yerushalayim, having come here a little more than a year ago. Sorry, missed the banner. Not around that area much. Shouldn't it be more central? Is this what former editor of the Jpost is involved in now? I heard he's into something big.

Of course I agree, it's about time they declared the corpse is dead!
